Verizon Wireless is the largest cell phone carrier in the United States in terms of most subscribers and largest land area.

Because of this size, Verizon Wireless tends to charge higher than other carriers. The company has vast infrastructure, technical support teams, widespread towers, and retail store presence. It scores higher on network coverage, reliability and speed than any other cellular network, according to multiple independent studies. However, it’s also among the most expensive. Verizon’s prices are on the higher end. Its top-tier unlimited plans cost up to $90 per month for one person, and it doesn’t offer any individual budget plans. It is a dependable and expansive network and if the price doesn’t bother you, it could be your best fit!

T-Mobile is arguably the fastest network and performs well in urban zones. If you live in a city, you can benefit from T-Mobile’s fast speeds. Its Unlimited 55+ plan gives customers ages 55 and older feasible discounts. If you’re under 55, the T-Mobile plans are still solid unlimited-data options. You can use up to 50GB of data before hitting the de-prioritization threshold which is a huge plus. T-Mobile doesn’t offer many limited-data plans. It offers cheaper plans that include 10GB of data, but they come with some disadvantages such as activation fees, deposits, and lack of customization. If you live in an urban area, it could be your best option

Sprint is unable to compete with network speeds (lowest of the big 4), hence it often comes out with budget plans and frequent promotions. Sprint sometimes does a better job supporting smaller areas than the big cities. It also has an ever expanding 4G network making it a contender in certain markets. They have a focus on greater quality within the area they cover rather than trying to accommodate various zip codes. If you live in one of their strong coverage areas, you’ll be served well.

AT&T is the second largest network in both subscribers and coverage. The network does a good job of serving many smaller towns and rural counties. AT&T’s prices are very competitive compared not only to Verizon, but Sprint and T-Mobile as well. They even provide discounts for bundles which makes their offer that bit more attractive for the customer. For large families, AT&T provides the best value.
